Not coating the inside is obvious. Like I said in my post above, Swain Tech (and probably other coaters) know this and won't coat the inside of the manifolds. Regarding the heat and cracking, I can't comment on it from experience or training, but it seems like the cast iron manifolds should be able to handle the extra heat; it's very common to coat cast iron manifolds; have never heard of a lot of cracking issues, but SZ probably has a lot more experience on this than I do. It might also be a way to protect themselves should the manifolds crack after coating as it's another variable they shouldn't have to be responsible for.
